"As malice's puppet, he can fight only to regain control of his soul, mind and will before the ghosts of the past possess him once more."
Baralai is a non-playable character from Final Fantasy X-2. He is the current Praetor of New Yevon. As their newly elected official, he is deeply respected by the other party members and the citizens of Spira. New Yevon took a conservative approach, their motto being "One thing at a time". However their furtive habits - including sphere theft - earned them a general lack of trust which Baralai sought to reverse. Baralai at first glance appeared soft spoken and polite, eager to take on the role of Praetor of New Yevon. Despite this, he harbored past hurts and betrayals and was be quick to anger.
Baralai's default appearance is directly based on his appearance from Final Fantasy X-2. His Manikin version, Ephemeral Praetor, is orange.
Baralai's fighting style is that of the Extended Assault. Baralai's attacks all have significant range, making use of the extending length of his double-edged staff, his handgun and his magical capabilities. Baralai himself has a rather slow movement speed, but his attack speed is much greater in comparison. He most relies on mid-ranged combat, as his Brave Attacks require minimal setup to deal the most damage, while his HP Attacks require Baralai to be relatively close to his opponent.
