Basch was a playable character in Final Fantasy XII. A disgraced knight, Basch had his name ruined throughout Ivalice, when he was believed to have murdered King Raminas B'nargin Dalmasca, causing the country's downfall. However this heinous act was committed by his twin brother Noah under his guise.

In the Dissidian Wars, Basch served under Cosmos serving as a protector, however he was removed from the cycle after his brother imitated him, due to their similar appearance, to get close enough to attack Cosmos. Basch volunteered himself to be removed to prevent such a possible reoccuring.


Basch’s basic attire is based off of his original game attire from Final Fantasy XII - a sleeveless red jacket with a leather front-plate over a white shirt, armoured beige shorts and leather longboots. In EX Mode Basch glows slightly and equips the best greatsword - Tournesol.

His alternative costume 'Cage's Slave' dresses him as he was when he escaped from prison - a pair of teal trousers with a belted vest, revealing scars on his shoulders and upper back. Additionally Basch's hair and beard are longer

Basch fights as an EX-terminator decreasing his opponent's EX Force to slow their progress into EX Mode. Basch also has a handful of defensive techniques to nullify the damage he takes. However, like his brother Gabranth he is slow moving.

Innate Abilities

Brave Attacks

Name Type Description
Charging Strikes Ground Charges forward and attacks the opponent up to three times. Can continue even if first strike misses. Can initiate a chase sequence.
Holy Ground Fires a ball of energy that homes in on the opponent. Fast, but low damage.
Protectga Ground/ Aerial Nullifies the next Physical Brave attack until either Basch or his opponent connect with an attack or Basch uses Shellga.
Light Ray Ground/ Aerial Fires four rays of light around Basch that move upwards. Can deflect projectile attacks.
Shellga Ground/ Aerial Nullifies the next Magical Brave attack until either Basch or his opponent connect with an attack or Basch uses Protectga
Diving Rend Aerial Charge at the opponent and knock them away, will either leap up or dive down, depending on the opponent's position in relation to Basch. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.
Shock Aerial Basch swings his sword releasing a blade of energy that spreads and explodes. Can initiate a chase sequence.

Flame Purge Ground/ Aerial Fires a series of flaming swords that home in on the opponent and explode. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.
Shining Ray Aerial Creates two pillars of light directly under and above the opponent that explode and converge together.

Apocalypse Shield EX Ability Any assist's called by Basch are impervious to Brave attacks.
Quickening EX Burst Basch performs his three Quickenings. The player must press R to cycle through a list of commands and input the next level Quickening with X within a time limit to correctly link together his three attacks and maximize the Brave damage done before he ends the EX Burst. Depending on whether the player chains together all three Quickenings, Basch will end with either Inferno or Black Hole.


Basch can equip Swords, Greatswords, Daggers, Spears, Shields, Gauntlets, Hats, Helms, Light Armor, and Heavy Armor.
