Kam'lanaut is a villain and character representing Final Fantasy XI.
In the original title he was the younger of two brothers of an ancient line of Zilart royalty, he aided his elder brother but where foiled by the Kuuluu in their first attempt and the two fell into a deep slumber. Upon awakening he seized power in Jeuno through his advanced knowledge in crystal synthesis and aided the heroes of the world by uniting them in arms to defeat the Shadow Lord thus ensuring a clear frequency for Mother Crystals.
As the Archduke of Jeuno he has reigned for decades as both a beloved ruler and a peerless hero to the four nations, despite his true intentions.
In the storyline he along with his elder brother Eald'narche use the cycle as a means to finding an alternate route to paradise. Under cryptic advice from Sephiroth, Kam'lanaut pursues Aerith to extract her information on The Promised Land, but is bested when his wicked schemes threaten her allies.
In his initial form he wears an elaborate black robe and maroon cape with a high collar. In EX Mode he changes into his white and gold battle armor.
In his first alternate form the Warlock's Atire dresses him in the like named armor set from Final Fantasy XI dressing him in a double breasted scarlet jacket and matching red fedora with a white feather. In EX Mode he equips the Duelist's Attire set changing into a black tabard over a red coat with matching britches and hat.
In his second alternate form the Nobles Tunic dresses him in the Noble's Tunic White Mage set giving him a carefully decorated black and white tunic and black trousers.
His Manikin is bronze and called the Partisan of Antiquity
