Hope Esthiem is a hero representing the Lightning Saga.

In the original title he was caught up in the Bodhum purge and branded by the God Pulse to be one of the harbringers of the Day of Wrath. He fought alongside Lightning and bore a deep grudge against Snow whom he blamed for his mother's death. Years later Hope became the head of the orginization called Academy and worked tirelessly for centuries to create the ark that would sustain humanity when the crystal pillar came crashing down on Pulse.


Hope's appearance is identical to his appearance in Final Fantasy XIII-2. He wears a yellow wristband, the Academy uniform of a long-sleeved yellow and white coat with a light blue necktie. He wears light gray pants, black boots, and has black and red storage packs along the left shoulder and waist of his coat

Hope's first alternate outfit, named Casual Buttonup, is based off of one of the outfits Hope modled for Prada, wearing a white short sleeved button up shirt decorated with artwork, while wearing a pair of khaki pants and black dress shoes.

Hope's second alternate outfit, named Casual Jacket, is a design based on the outfit of he wears in for a prada promotion, wearing a long sleeved padded jacket and a pair of shorts and a pair of casual loafers.

Hope's manikin version, Fleeting Director, is pink


Hope is described as a Paradigm Ravager, using his Paradigm Shift abilities from Final Fantasy XIII to shift between Ravager, Synergist and Medic roles during battle. Each role has its own moveset, allowing Hope to change his fighting style. As a Ravager, Hope launches elemental assaults that can hang in the enviornment and allow him to control the battlefield, As a Synergist Hope can cast spells that empower himself and as a Medic Hope can regenerate his Bravery and Assist gauges.

Gestalt Drive EX Burst Send the opponent crashing into the EX Zone by Hope summoning an aura of golden energy to emerge from within him like an explosion. He will summon Alexander from the sky to form his fortress wall form. You must input the commands on screen to attack the enemy with Brutal Sanction, Earthquake, Retributive Blast and/or Purification. When the action command is complete Hope opens Alexander's main turret and fires a series of lasers to trace a rune under the opponent and generates a blast of holy energy with Divine Judgement


Hope can equip Daggers, Rods, Guns, Throwing Weapons, Bangles, Parrying Weapons, Hats, Hairpins, Robes and Clothes.
