Leon, was one of the playable characters in Final Fantasy II. He was an ally but he also served as an antagonist throughout the game as the Emperor's 'Dark Knight'.
In the Dissidian Wars, Leon reluctantly worked under the Emperor, his main opponent was Minwu, who also tried to make Leon change sides, however Leon believed it a ruse.
Leon’s basic attire is based off of Leon's most recent in-game appearance (PSP). In EX Mode Leon's weapon changes to Longinus and Armour glows blood red.
His alternative costume 'Emperor's Knight' is based on Amano's artwork of Leon.
Their 3rd costume 'Blue Knight' is based on Leon's original NES Game appearance. Dressing Leon in simplistic blue plated armour.

Battle[]
Leon is a Dark Sideliner who fights using a combination of weaponry attacks and traps (reflecting his dual-allegiance). His attacks works similarly to Firion’s in that they repel and draw in opponents, he uses his traps - setting them before activating them from a distance. Leon therefore works by knocking opponents into set traps. However, some of Leon’s traps can hurt him as well so it is often harder to avoid damage if in smaller areas and in larger areas it takes longer to cover to field with traps.

Pressing random buttons shown on screen within a time limit, Leon sets traps and mines around the opponent and if all buttons were pressed, activates all of the traps before finishing with a Soul Eater. If not correctly pressed, finishes with a forward slash.
