Lezard Valeth
Lezard Valeth is a recurring character in the Valkyrie Profile series. A secondary villain and ally in Valkyrie Profile, and the main antagonist of Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria. Lezard was very intelligent, but also arrogant, scheming, unstable and extremely ambitious. His natural thirst for power and knowledge, coupled with his obsession with Lenneth lead him to devise several schemes to achieve both godhood, his own pocket dimension and union with Lenneth, disregarding any consequences or collateral damage that may derive from his actions. While vilified for practicing necromancy he is one of the most accomplished sorcerers in the human realms.


Lezard’s basic attire is based off of his artwork, dressing him in a green tunic, brown armoured pantaloons and gold tipped leather boots with his signature ragged cape. In EX Mode, Lezard's hands and feet glow with a dark purple aura and levitates as he moves.

The alternative costume 'Black Mancer' is a palette swap reflecting his original sprite from Valkyrie Profile - coloured black and purple instead of green and brown. In EX Mode Lezard's aura is Dark Green.

His 3rd costume 'Blue Magician' is based on his appearance in Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria where he is portrayed younger with a purple overcoat over a blue frilled shirt and his cape is not ragged. In EX Mode Lezard's Aura is Dark Blue.

Lezard’s manikin 'Ancient Necromancer' is Silver


Lezard fights as a Combo Magician, using several chaining combination attacks to hold down the opponent and deal damage. Uniquely, Lezard is able to pull off a Brave-to-Brave-to-HP technique to deal severe damage. However, outside of this technique each individual attack is quite weak, requiring Lezard to have to use whole combinations to attack.

Brave Attacks

Name Type Description
Fire Storm Ground Summons a spinning whirlwind of ascending flames that slowly moves towards the opponent. Constantly deals damage while touching the flames.
Frigid Damsel Ground Calls two ice spirits to attack the opponent with spinning blades of ice. May initiate a chase sequence
Lightning Bolt Aerial Launches a horizontal burst of electricity at the opponent. May initiate a chase sequence
Poison Blow Aerial Creates a small fog that slowly spreads out before dissipating, constantly deals damage while touching the fog.

HP Attacks

Spiritual Thorn Ground Surrounds the opponent in thorned vines that rise from the ground before tightening and whipping hem.
Dark Saviour Ground/ Aerial Materialises three 'swords' that are flung forward to pierce the opponent. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.
Mystic Cross Aerial Creates an X-shaped burst of energy in front of Lezard that pulls opponents towards it.

Brave to Brave Attacks

Glacial Blizzard Ground (Chained from Frigid Damsel) Spikes of ice fly into the opponent from below and below. May stun opponents.
Thunder Storm Aerial (Chained from Lightning Bolt) Rains down several bolts of lightning.
Earth Grave Aerial (Chained from Poison Blow) Summons a series of rocks that slam into the opponent knocking them back. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.

Brave to HP Attacks

Animate Earth Ground (Chained from Fire Storm and Explosion) Creates an eruption beneath the opponent that sends them upwards.
Tidal Wave Ground (Chained from Frigid Damsel and Glacial Blizzard) Creates an explosion of water and ice that then spreads out in a shockwave that can send opponents flying. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.
Gravity Blessing Aerial (Chained from Lightning Bolt and Thunder Storm) Sends down a series of Lightning Bolts that centre on to the opponent pulling them downwards.
Maleficent Harm Aerial (Chained from Poison Blow and Earth Grave) surrounds and engulfs the opponent in toxic mist before imploding. Can Wall Rush for extra damage.

EX Mode - Lord of Creation

Power of the Gods EX Ability Lezard's movement and attack speed increases and when dodging, he teleports instead giving brief moments of invincibility.
Great Magic EX Burst The player is given 3 choices of 3 spells, they must choose in order: Poison Blow -> Fire Storm -> Dark Saviour. If selected correctly, Lezard finishes with 'Pale Flare', gathering darkness into a ball before thrusting it into the opponent and exploding. If any choice is incorrect, Lezard finishes with 'Animate Earth' causing the ground to erupt beneath the opponent.


Lezard can equip Staves, Rods, Poles, Books, Gloves, Bangles, Hats, Headbands, Robes and Clothing.
