Red Mage

The Red Mage of Light is a Warrior of Cosmos from Final Fantasy and one of the Warrior's companions from his world.  He has a gentleman's flair, and occasionally flirts with his female allies (but not Cosmos herself).  Unlike Zidane, the Red Mage of Light knows restraint and when to back off.  He also has some measure of wisdom, but cannot be considered a truly wise man due to his tendency to charm the ladies.  He also never mentions his real name, instead referring to himself as the Red Mage or the Red Mage of Light.  It is not known whether he has forgotten his own name or simply prefers not to mention it.  As a Red Mage, the Red Mage of Light fights with both swordplay and magic, and demonstrates skill with both when he alternates between swinging his sword and casting spells.  His skill in battle is put to the test when he fights the Warriors of Chaos, especially his main opponent Astos.

AttireEdit

The Red Mage of Light's default outfit is based off of the Red Mage sprite from the PSP version of Final Fantasy.  The EX Mode appearance is based off of the Red Wizard sprite from the PSP version of Final Fantasy, and he changes his weapon from his normal sword to the golden Lightbringer.

His Alt 1 outfit "Simple Red Cloak" is based off of the GBA Red Mage artwork, with the EX Mode adding gold trim and a white scarf.

His Alt 2 outfit "Warlock" features the Red Mage of Light wearing the FFXI Warlock armor set with a cape.  In EX Mode, the outfit has gold trim and a white scarf.

His DLC outfit "Duelist" features the Red Mage of Light wearing the FFXI Duelist armor set with a cape.  In EX Mode, the outfit has gold trim and a white scarf.

His manikin counterpart is named the False Wizard and is colored blue.

BattleEdit

The Red Mage of Light is described as a Spellslinging Swordsman.  He is a well-rounded character specializing in close-range physical attacks and long-range magical attacks, as well as a few more defensive close-range magical attacks.  He also has many Bravery to HP links, and most of his Bravery attacks link to an HP attack.  As a downside, the Red Mage of Light has few stand alone HP attacks, and his dependence on Bravery to HP links results in heavy use of CP for his attacks.

Overspell EX Burst

Red Mage of Light attacks the opponent with powerful bursts of magic.  The player must input a series of button commands as Red Mage of Light waves his left hand to strike them multiple times with magic.  If the player inputs all of the commands correctly, he charges in with his sword, with explosions of elemental magic following the sword strike.  If the commands are not input correctly, the Red Mage of Light strikes the opponent with his sword a second time when the explosions of magic would occur in a successful EX Burst.
