“Raised in Kazus by the mythril smith Takka, whose rigorous training led her to run away from home... again.”

-Final Fantasy III Instruction Manual

Refia is one of the main characters of the DS re-release of Final Fantasy III, she lives with her mentor, Takka, and is quite rebellious. During the story, she goes to a hidden airship when the town of Kazus is cursed, with her evading it unintentionally. She is the last character met by the party and not met until they reach the end of the first area. She acts as a motherly figure to the party, instead of a love interest, and has a deep-seated hatred for toads. For an unknown reason.

During the Dissidian Wars, Refia was a Warrior of Cosmos, she traveled with the Onion Knight, both of them not knowing each other, but being from the same world. Their goal is to take down Cloud of Darkness, and prevent Dissidia from succumbing to the apparition and reducing everything to nothingness. She eventually encounters Gilgamesh, and easily beats him, but she is sucked into the rift along with him, not actually supposed to have been in the cycles of battle. After this she is not seen again.

Refia's default appearance is the image seen above. Her Red Mage, Knight and Devout jobs are based off of Refia's appearance as them in the DS Remake of Final Fantasy III.

Her first alternate outfit, Kazus Blacksmith, gives her a headband and darkens her clothes, they also become slightly torn and tattered. Her Red Mage costume gets a lighter shade of red, but splotches of dust and dirt everywhere as well. Her Knight armour is less shiny, and has patches of rust on it. Refia's Devout costume has the end of the cape torn quite a bit, and the white parts are a light gray.

Refia's Second alternate outfit, Summoner's Garb, changes her Freelancer appearance to that of Refia as a Summoner in her game. On her Red Mage costume, the red parts become Green, and the feather becomes black. Her Knight costume gets a Dark Knight-based recolour, with the silver armour becoming dark blue, and the highlights become brown. Finally, her Devout costume gets a Magus-based recolour, with the white cape becoming black, and the pink parts becoming a slightly dark shade of blue.
