Rinoa Heartilly is the central love interest and female protagonist of Final Fantasy VIII. She is the leader of the resistance movement dubbed the Timber Owls and joins Squall and his group upon joining forces to execute the President of Galbadia. Rinoa fights using a unique weapon called a Blaster Edge, along with the utilization of her pet, Angelo, and her Sorceress Powers.
Rinoa's default appearance is identical to her appearance in Final Fantasy VIII. She dons her blue duster sweater and black halter top with matching boots and skirt. In addition to her normal appearance, Angelo accompanies her around the battlefield at all times. During EX Mode Rinoa enters 'Sorceress Mode', sprouting her iconic angel wings.
Her first alternate outfit is based on her ballroom gown from the SeeD Graduation Dance. Rinoa changes into a champagne-colored halter dress and a pair of white stilettos. Angelo also appears a slightly lighter shade of brown, resembling a Shetland Sheepdog.
Her second alternate outfit is her Space Suit, garbing her in a futuristic silver space suit, complete with her necklace floating freely in her helmet. Angelo becomes a darker shade of brown, almost black, to resemble a Border Collie.
Her Manikin version, Transient Princess, is purple.

Battle[]
While in battle, Rinoa is a Sorceress in Berserk combining the combat capabilities of her Blaster Edge, her faithful companion, Angelo and her Sorcery to form a three-part chain attack. Rinoa links an initial Brave Attack to an additional Brave Attack, both leading to a final HP Attack. While this maximizes damage output and oftentimes locks enemies in place as she continues her assault, Rinoa is unable to use HP Attacks without first initiating a combo.

Rinoa launches a single pinwheel from her Blaster Edge that homes in on a single enemy, causing slight Brave damage.

Rinoa raises her right arm into the air, causing her Blaster Edge to spin, as a bolt of lightning suddenly strikes the enemy, causing minimal Brave damage in addition to temporarily stunning them.

(Chained from Blaster Edge) Rinoa fires a set of three fiery pinwheels that home in on the enemy and collide simultaneously, creating a minor explosion for moderate Brave damage.

(Chained from Thunder) Rinoa clasps her hands together in front of her chest, as if in prayer, creating an icy prison to form around the enemy. The ice then shatters, dealing moderate Brave damage but no knockback.

If not, Rinoa merely performs Angelo Cannon.
