Seifer Almasy was a temporary playable character and one of the main antagonists in Final Fantasy VIII. He is the rival of the main character Squall and is the mirror image of him in many ways. In spite of Seifer's actions throughout the game, he was not truly evil, and was shown to actually care for the party.
During the Dissidian Wars, Seifer sided with Chaos due to a faint memory of wishing to serve a Sorceress and therefore sided with the sorceress Ultimecia. However, upon meeting his rival Squall, Seifer became more interesting in fighting him rather than the wars as he remembered their previous rivalries. He was removed from the Wars by Chaos after he sensed that without the influence of Ultimecia, Seifer would join the Cosmos Warriors.
Attire[]
Seifer's base outfit is based on his original FFVIII appearance. He wears a blue vest, with a cross-like design lined in white, a silver-gray trenchcoat with an emblem resembling the symbol of the Cross of Saint James on the sleeves, and black gloves and boots. He also wears a silver chain with a tag around his neck. In EX Mode his clothes beome more ragged and his Hyperion Gunblade bursts into Flames.
His alternate attire 'Silver Knight' is based more on his Amano artwork, wearing a dark grey shirt and trousers with his silver coat hanging on his back like a cloak. Additionally his hair is shown to be a whiter blond.
Seifer's 3rd Outfit 'Combat Ready' makes Seifer shirtless but still wearing his Trenchcoat. His Hyperion Gunblade is coloured Black in this outfit..
DLC Outfit 'Kingdom Hearts Clothing' portrays Seifer as an Adult version of the Kingdom Hearts Seifer - wearing a black knit-cap (tuque), a blue crop-top vest with white lining underneath a jacket resembling the one he wore in Final Fantasy VIII, though it lacks sleeves and the red crosses it originally had. He has baggy, aubergine colored pants, with the legs tucked into black combat boots with light blue laces.
His manikin Transient Hound is Light Purple
Battle[]
Seifer is a Merciless Knight who Specialises in unleashing quick and deadly HP attacks. While he is limited in long-range attacks he does have several mid-range attacks. His Brave attacks are limited but he can hit quickly with them and chain fire spells into many of his attacks. He is also a respectable (although not brilliant) guard-breaker but cannot counter strong blocks like Jecht Block. His only downside is that he cannot block that well himself so he can easily be caught by a faster opponent.
